The Thek@ Favaro is an integrated archive on the life and work of Antonio Favaro, one of the key figures in the history of Italian science between the late 19th century and the early 20th century.

The Thek@ makes available online approx. 13,000 manuscript documents, over 1,000 works by Favaro (including monographs, journal articles and reviews) and a hundred secondary literature studies dedicated to him. The Chronology section retraces - year by year - the main stages of the scholar's life, accompanied by an extensive iconographic collection.

Thanks to the collaboration with the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, the Thek@ has been enriched with new important materials testifying to Antonio Favaro’s close ties with the Venetian institution, of which Favaro was a full member (starting from 1881) and president in the two-year period 1905-1907.

In particular, around 200 letters written by Favaro, mostly sent to Guglielmo Berchet and other secretaries and members of the Istituto Veneto, are now available for consultation. Moreover, there are documents relating to the Querini-Stampalia and Tomasoni awards (the latter also included in the Thek@ Caverni) and a file dedicated to Favaro's death including obituaries and letters of condolence received by the Institute in October 1922. Also available in digital version are the ca. 150 Favaro's articles published in the two journals (Atti and Memorie) of the Istituto Veneto, and about 30 publications preserved in the institute's library.
