This initiative, jointly promoted by the Società Toscana di Orticultura and the Museo Galileo, is intended to establish a thematic digital library dedicated to the systematic promotion and dissemination of the Society’s bibliographic and photographic collections, preserved within the library and archival holdings of Villa Bardini. The digital library is conceived as a reference resource for scholars, researchers, and professionals in the fields of agronomy and historical-environmental studies, as well as for a broader audience with an interest in the history of agricultural practices, horticulture, and the transmission of botanical knowledge. Within this framework, the project seeks to expand and facilitate access to this documentary heritage, while fostering innovative methodologies for its consultation and scholarly investigation. Concurrently, it constitutes a significant opportunity for the rediscovery, valorisation, and critical reappraisal of a cultural heritage of considerable historical and scientific significance.
