The “Pietro Stefanelli” book collection, that the Galileo Museum library received as a donation in 2009, 2015 and 2018, is now entirely catalogued and available to scholars.
The collection, mostly relating to medical hydrology, hygiene, chemistry, entomology, agronomy and horticulture, consists of 3 sections:
- Miscellanea: about 1,600 pamphlets and extracts, collected in original folders, plus approximately 600 loose booklets
- Reviews: issues relating to 40 periodicals
- Monographs: about 300 publications, mostly from the 19th century, plus some ancient books
