Immersion
Museo Marino Marini, September 10–19, 2026
On the occasion of the centenary of Panerai’s historic boutique in Piazza San Giovanni in Florence, from September 10th to 19th, 2026, the Museo Marino Marini in Florence will host “Immersion”, the brand exhibition designed to celebrate the history and heritage of the Maison.
The exhibition offers an immersive journey unfolding from the original artisan workshop to the marine world. Visitors can retrace the key milestones of the brand and understand its essence through the core elements that guided its evolution: functionality, high performance, and a spirit of adventure.

The “Immersion” exhibition also serves as an opportunity to recall the deep cultural and technical connection linking Panerai’s tradition to the history of science in Florence, of which the Museo Galileo is home.
Indeed, displayed on the ground floor of our Museum is a model of extraordinary historical and conceptual value: a reproduction of the innovative mechanism designed by Galileo Galilei to apply the pendulum to the mechanical clock, exploiting the principle of the isochronism of small oscillations to improve its accuracy. A first model, unfortunately lost, was built by Vincenzo Viviani.
At the end of the 19th century, watchmaker Eustachio Porcellotti reconstructed a model based on the only surviving Galilean drawing. Later, it was the Maison Panerai itself that paid homage to this extraordinary invention by creating a highly refined replica: a 35.60 cm tall table clock with a pendulum regulator and free escapement, produced in a limited edition of only 30 pieces.
