A fascinating journey between alchemy and astronomy to discover the secrets of the Medici court. From the representation of the harmonies between man and the cosmos to Galileo Galilei’s revolutionary discoveries, the tour describes the transition from the ancient art of transformation to the birth of modern chemistry.
The initiative "Alchemy Between Art and Science," organized in collaboration with the Horne Museum, includes two guided tours to discover how knowledge, tools, and creativity have always worked together. A path between art and science that narrates the transformation of matter: from alchemy as an ancient quest to the working of materials that become art, such as metal that "transmutes" into gold through technique and knowledge.
The second appointment will be held on Saturday, November 28 at 10:30 AM at the Horne Museum, located at Via dei Benci 6, Florence. Gold, silver, glass, and clay are among the materials shaped to create some of the most significant works in the Horne Museum's collection. The tour offers a special itinerary to discover the wisdom employed by ancient masters to transform matter into art.
